Ahh, Summer!  There are very few things better than Summer in Montana, regardless of your species.  We have had a lot of questions on the rattlesnake vaccine.  The latest word is that the majority of veterinary schools do not recommend it, because of real questions concerning how effective it is.  A big question for our area is that the vaccine is made using Texas Diamondback venom.   In Montana we have the Prairie rattlesnake and there is little if any cross protection from this  vaccine.  If you have questions about your dog and encounters with rattlesnakes, please call us.

Allergies that began to bother your dog or cat this Spring will most likely continue and may even worsen this Summer and Fall.  If your pet is really bothered by them, there are many things available to help.

Many dogs are very bothered by loud windstorms, thunderstorms and fireworks.  The best thing you can do to relieve their anxiety is to make sure they have a quiet, safe place to try and relax and feel secure in.  The more sound you can block out, the better.

Unfortunately, cat diabetes continues to be on the rise.  Keeping your cat lean and lowering the fat in the diet can go along way in preventing the disease.

Keep your pets vaccinations  up to date and parasites inside and out under control since our pets and everything else are on the move in the summer.  Get out and enjoy one of the most beautiful times of the year with your pet.
